Jacksonville was a winner Thursday morning.
The Indians, who ended the regular season in a three-way tie for third, along with Corsicana and Lindale (all with 4-6 conference records), won the coin flip, which will force Corsicana and Lindale to play Friday night in what amounts to an elimination game.
The winner of that contest will then take on the Indians at 4 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Valley Community College's Cardinal Gymnasium, with the winner of that game going into the state Class 4A, Region 2 playoffs as the third place team out of District 16-4A, and the loser taking the fourth spot.
The third place team from 16-4A will take on Mansfield Summit (18-9) in bi-district play early next week, while the squad that comes in fourth will have the unenviable task of squaring off against No. 2-ranked Lancaster (26-4).
