Central Baptist Church to host event for women

JACKSONVILLE — Central Baptist Church Jacksonville to host live simulcast event for women.

Ladies, do you want, or perhaps need, a time of renewal? You'll have that chance at the Priscilla Shirer Live Simulcast event, to be held 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

Shirer is a wife and a mom first, but with a Bible in her hand and a message in her heart, you'll see why thousands flock to hear her speak and dive into her Bible study series each year. A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a master's degree in biblical studies, Priscilla loves nothing more than to serve her sisters in Christ through the teaching of God's Word.

“We’re so excited to have the opportunity to share this special event with the women of Jacksonville and the surrounding communities,” said Tam Clark, CBC Ladies Ministry team member.  “Priscilla is an exciting, inspirational teacher, and this simulcast will give the women who join us an intimate, front-row seat as she makes the Bible come to life.”

Shirer reaches out especially to the women who have "heard it all" when it comes to God, but simply aren't experiencing the power promised in the Bible.

"We tend to think that God only speaks to the spiritually elite," Shirer said. "That only established authors or teachers or pastors are hearing from God, not regular people like us. Women can open up the Bible, see the passages unfold, watch the principles jump out and realize they can do that in their own life."

Whether you need inspiration or a challenge, Priscilla Shirer Live will help you come to a better understanding of who you are in Christ by hearing the uncompromising truth of Scripture. Priscilla's ministry to women around the world focuses on expository teaching of God's Word, using humor, honesty, and intense, careful study.

The day-long event will include worship led by Anthony Evans, Shirer's brother, and messages from Shirer broadcast live from New Orleans, LA. Time for prayer and lunch are included in the day's schedule. The event is open to all women.

Tickets for the simulcast are available online or from the CBC office for $10 per person.  Lunch will be provided at the event. Tickets must be purchased by March 31; there will be no ticket sales at the door.  Please contact the church office at 903-586-2215 or visit www.cbcjacksonville.com for additional details or to purchase tickets online.

About Priscilla Shirer

A communications major in college, Shirer planned to be a TV news anchor – but God had other ideas. While interning at a Christian radio station in Houston, she began to receive invitations to do Bible studies at small women’s events. At only 18 she shared the simple truths of Scripture that she was studying during her quiet time, and she’s been in full-time ministry ever since. Priscilla’s ministry is focused on the expository teaching of the Word of God.

For nearly a decade, Anthony Evans has voiced the Gospel with such a melodic, thought-provoking style that he has immerged as one of Christian music's premiere male vocalists and worship leaders. With five solo projects and two music videos, Anthony's crossover music has vibrated the doors of the church and ventured beyond. Anthony also happens to be Priscilla Shirer’s brother.
