A Jacksonville man was arrested last week after an investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department revealed evidence he allegedly sought sexual favors from at least two children under the age of 17.
Robert Gall, 66, was charged with two counts of criminal solicitation of a minor. He was also charged with criminal trespass in an unrelated incident.
CCSD began investigating Gall after receiving a report about his alleged inappropriate activities.
“During her investigation, Detective (Gina) Battley found that enough probable cause existed in the case to arrest Gall for requesting some type of sexual act from two separate, unrelated victims,” Chief Investigator Chris White said. “Detective Battley executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on Thursday, March 20, where corroborating evidence was seized. The following day a separate search warrant was executed on the suspect’s car.”
White said evidence was also found in the car that substantiated the victims’ testimonies.
Detectives would not release the type of evidence found, citing the continuing investigation.
“There are other allegations being investigated, and additional charges are expected to be filed against Mr. Gall,” White said.
Prior to last week’s arrest, White said CCSD had not had any previous experience with the suspect. Gall’s bond was set at $100,000 for each solicitation charge, and at $35,000 for the trespassing charge.
