Deborah Raissi gets probation, community svc.

From staff reports

Deborah A. Raissi, wife of Jacksonville City Manager Mo Raissi, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges in a Smith County court, Monday. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana, both Class-B misdemeanors, after being arrested Oct. 14, 2007, by the Bullard Police Department.

For the two charges combined, Raissi received 30 months of probation, 48 hours of community service and monetary fines totaling $1,113. Under the terms of her sentence, if she violates her probation agreement, Raissi will spend 360 days of confinement in the Smith County Jail (180 days for each charge).

The maximum sentence for a Class-B misdemeanor is a jail term not to exceed 180 days and/or a fine up to $2,000.

Raissi had been driving alone southbound on U.S. Highway 69 at 3:30 a.m. at the time of her arrest. Prior to her October arrest, no prior criminal charges appeared on her record. She was arraigned Feb. 22. Her case was handled by Judge Thomas Dunn.
