Hallum, Pittendrigh to be married

JACKSONVILLE —

Mr. and Mrs. David and Rosemary Hallum of Jacksonville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Crystal Leigh Hallum, to Alan Pittendrigh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh and Charlotte Pittendrigh of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Crystal was the Salutatorian of the Jacksonville High School class of 2000, obtained a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2004, and a Master’s of Science in Taxation from Bentley College in Waltham, MA, last year.  She is currently employed with KPMG, a public accounting firm, in Bermuda as a Tax Senior.  She prepares U.S. tax returns for insurance companies and hedge funds.

Alan is a graduate of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa with B. Com Accounting (2003) and B. Com Honors in Accounting (2004) degrees. He is currently employed with Chartis Insurance in Bermuda as an Intercompany Accountant

The bride and groom met while working abroad in Bermuda; Crystal moving from Boston and Alan moving from South Africa.  They initially began working at KPMG on the same day; however, Alan has since begun working at Chartis Insurance.  They will continue to reside in Bermuda after their marriage and eventually plan to return to the states.

The couple will marry on July 16, 2011, in Jacksonville.
