4-H focus

Jacksonville Progress

Cloverleaf 4-H Club member Jordan Hall stands with submissions to the annual 4-H photography contest, currently on display at the Jacksonville Public Library. Hall’s “Animal” photo of a grasshopper won “Best in Show” at the county level. In October, members attended a class taught by Joe Daniels from the Cherokee County Extension Agency and learned all about taking better photos. The students then submitted the photos into the various categories, and four judges took one week critiquing each photo. The results were a lot of ribbons and a lot of smiles. “We have some great, young photographers in Cherokee County,” said 4-H sponsor Wendy Emprimo. The next step for participants is the District 5 photography competition in April at Stephen F. Austin State University.
