Thanks for returned purse

JACKSONVILLE — Dear Editor,

Just wanted to say thanks to the wonderful gentleman that returned my purse.

My husband had a doctor’s appointment in Jacksonville on July 7, 2011. After leaving the doctor we stopped by Wal-Mart to get a few things.

While putting the groceries in our car, I left my purse in the buggy. Some kind gentleman saw it an turned it into the customer service desk.

We were back to Palestine before I missed it. The receptionist at my doctor called Wal-Mart and was told they had it.

If you are reading this and know him please thank him for me. So grateful! God is good.

  • Discarded and forgotten

Family reunions are a tradition worldwide, I suppose. I’ve read the Kennedy’s do them; I have enjoyed movies of poignant, funny, even deadly gatherings of clans both small and great.

  • Cheney reminds writer of Capt. Ahab

Like a lost spirit from wars past, Dick Cheney recently appeared on Fox News to promote his political lobbying group called “Alliance for a Strong America.”

  • Standing up for abused, neglected children

It's been sixteen years since I retired from the Air Force, but I still serve our country and my community today. I am proud to be a veteran, and I am proud to be a CASA - a court appointed special advocate.

  • Questioning job of animal shelter workers

I would like to make a comment on the animal shelter. I live in Gallatin on Hwy. 22. Everybody has a cat or a dog or lots of them.

  • Kudos to shelter’s response to criticism

Miss Wallace’s response to the criticisms of the Klein Animal Shelter is one of the most articulate, erudite and intellectually honest letters to the editor I have ever read.

  • A clearer explanation of writer’s comments

I certainly appreciate the things that the Klein Animal Shelter does and look forward to continuing my volunteer efforts (although I doubt I am welcome back at Klein!).
