HOPE needs help

Jacksonville Daily Progress

JACKSONVILLE — Dear Editor:

Over the years in time of crisis, Jacksonville and Cherokee County have helped by supporting organizations that provide for people in need. Such an organization is HOPE — formed 20 years ago by civic and religious leaders and concerned citizens as a clearning house for services to meet these needs.

Throughout HOPE’s history, thousands of people have been fed abd case management services provided that lead people to self-sufficiency. In addition, health and life-enrichment education programs and a prescription application assistance program that connects to people to free medication have been provided. HOPE has worked with many partners to develop and sponsor the kinds of unduplicated services that improve the quality of life in our community.

HOPE has always depended on our community for financial support. Now because of declining contributions they have had to reduce hours of service; cut staff and salaries. In short, HOPE needs your help.

Keeping HOPE alive is vital. Your contribution will help make it happen.

Hugh Neeld,
