Jacksonville Daily Progress
Children deserve love, protection, security, food and shelter.
Unfortunately, many abused and neglected children living in Cher-okee County are not having their basic needs met.
These children belong to us, live in our community, attend our schools and are the future of our community.
Each year the number of victims of child abuse and/or neglect continues to rise. In 2012, there were 169 victims, two deaths and an average of 147 children in our care.
The Cherokee County Child and Family Service Board, along with our community leaders, such as the County Judge, Commissioners, County Attorneys, CPS workers, CASA volunteers, are working diligently to assist the abused and neglected children in our county.
Please join us in making a difference for our smallest victims, who have so much to overcome.
Reporting child abuse can be done by calling 1-800-252-5400 and is a simple life saving act.
On behalf of our board, I thank all our friends in Cherokee County who have supported our efforts to help the families in our community.
