Letter To The Editor: Reader found opinion column distasteful

Jacksonville Daily Progress

JACKSONVILLE — Bone-headed, tone deaf, less than human, Machiavellian, old, hardened, reactionaries, old white (again), suck ups, laughable, mentally constipated, insincere, intellectually challenged teabaggers, atebellum, preying on women and minorities......these were all terms used to describe Republicans in Stephen Dick's column that the Jacksonville Daily Progress chose to run in Tuesday's paper.  I'm a conservative (NOT Republican), and generally agree with conservative editorials.  I do enjoy reading opposing points of view, and admittedly relish a good argument.  That being said, I find rhetoric like this writer's distasteful, outside the realm of serious discourse and, frankly, beneath the diginity of this newspaper.  My advice to the Jacksonville Daily Progress would be to not publish this columnists opinions, unless of course this is the best that Democrats and liberals can offer, in which case I guess we're stuck with it.
