LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Be grateful for what blessings we enjoy

Jacksonville Daily Progress

JACKSONVILLE — There is something I have noticed lately that bothers me a little bit and that is the lack of thankfulness that I notice in some Americans, and even worse in some Christians.

I have personally been to a war torn country and have seen first hand from those people what having nothing truly means.

So many of my fellow Christians and Americans complain and consider it persecution if something so minor happens to them, such as, if their air conditioning goes out, or if they have to work too many hours at work, or the traffic was bad during the commute in the morning.

Wake up! Be thankful that you have an air conditioning to go out. Be thankful that you have a job and are able to work. Be thankful that you have a vehicle and you don't have to walk to your destination.

It seems to me that many of my fellow Americans and Christians are becoming spoiled.

The next time you think your life is bad go visit a third world country and live how some of those people have to live. I promise it won't take you long before you wished you were back in America.

Its time some of us look at the glass as half full instead of half empty all the time.

Its time we become thankful for what we have because we truly do live in the greatest country in the world.

God bless America and show us how to say thank you more often Jesus.

Philippians 2:14 – Do all things without complaining and disputing.
