The Jacksonville Public Library will once again be offering computer training classes for the general public.
These classes are provided through the auspices of the Loan Star Libraries Program, and will be taught by David Anderson, who was the instructor during the previous computer training classes at the library.
Classes will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on May 1-2; May 8-9; May 15-16; May 22-23; and May 29.
Signup sheets are now available at the circulation desk of the library. Topics covered will be “Basics of Windows,” “File Manage-ment (or, Where’s My Stuff?),” “Basics of Internet I & II,” “Basics of E-mail I & II,” “Using Microsoft Word,” “Using Microsoft Excel,” and “Using Microsoft Powerpoint.”
You do not have to have a library card to attend these classes; however, seating is limited, and each class is restricted to 10 people.
Anderson has been helping East Texans solve their computing problems in one capacity or another since 1986. He has more than 15 years of networking experience, including NetWare and various releases of Microsoft Windows. He’s repaired and built computers since 1991 and has worked as programmer.
He is a Microsoft Certified Professional who also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He has taught computer science classes at Lon Morris and Tyler Junior colleges.
