County 4-Hers show fashion sense at district show

Four Cherokee County 4-H members competed at the District 5 4-H Fashion Show on April 12, held at Stephen F. Austin State University.
All of the members competed in the “Buyers” division.
Each member was required to model their garment, and answer questions about the fiber content, the fabric used to make their garment and the care requirements of their garment.
Before purchasing their outfit they had to comparison shop, and specifically compare it with two similar outfits, and then discuss why they chose the one they did over the others.
This project teaches the members how to shop for quality clothing on a budget — good lesson that will serve them well all of their life.
We are very proud of each and every one of them for representing Cherokee County so well.
Thomas Parker, a member of Hearts In Bloom 4-H Club, won first place for the Junior level. He competed in the “Dressy” category.
Amanda Rathburn, with the Footbridge 4-H Club, won third place for the Senior level. She competed in the “Dressy” category.
Zachary Parker, with the Hearts In Bloom 4-H Club, won sixth place for Senior level. He competed in the “Casual” category.
David Wingard, with the Hearts In Bloom 4-H Club, won fifth place for the Intermediate level. He competed in the “Casual” category.
