Rachel Nicole Davenport and Jacob Arthur Wright, both of Troup, were united in holy matrimony at 8 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2008, at the Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville.
Pastor Ray Baldwin officiated the ceremony.
The bride’s father, Dicky Davenport, escorted his daugther down the aisle and gave her away to the groom.
The bride wore a rich brown and gold dress from Lillies and Lace in Longview. The strapless floor-length gown glistened when it caught the candle light of the ceremony. The bride choose this unique dress because she did not want the typical dress or ceremony. She wore no veil and carried a bouquet of cream colored roses wrapped in the fabric of her dress with a “something blue” charm hanging from the front.
Maid of honor was Katie West. Matron of honor was Kim Davenport.
Bestmen were Austin Slaughter and Jason Davenport. Groomsmen were Ryan Caldwell and Kaston Kincade.
Flower girl was Natalie Davenport and Menina. Ring bearer was Jag.
The bride graduated with honors from Troup High School in 2007, attended TJC on a Top 10 Scholarship, and plans to enroll in the Art Institute of Pittsburg to study residential planning.
She is employed with La Hacienda in Troup.
She is the daughter of Dicky and Kim Davenport of Troup. She is the granddaughter of Robert Kinney and Amelda Penn of Overton and Richard Davenport and Nedra Gatewood of Troup.
The groom graduated with honors from Troup High School in 2006, attends TJC on a Top 10 Scholarship, and plans to attend Texas A&M in the fall to study architecture.
He is employed with Simple Simons in Whitehouse.
He is the son of Melton and Heidi Wright of Troup and Chris and Melinda Love of Troup. He is the grandson of Sam and Dorris Willis of Tyler and Barbara Scott of Henderson.
Entertainment was provided by Boogie Butt Productions. The cake was provided by Designs by D’Anne. Flowers were designed by Karen Langston.
A wedding trip is planned for next year.
The couple will reside in Troup, but will be moving in May to College Station.
