2008 Miss Cherokee County Farm Bureau talent search seeking applicants

It is time for the 2008 Miss Cherokee County Farm Bureau contest and Talent Find contest.

These are scholarship-awarded contests that are held at county, district and state levels.

In the Queen’s contest, the girls will be judged on appearance, poise, personality and speech.

The Talent Find contest is a talent based contest and contestants will be judged on audience appeal, performance, appearance and professionalism.

The winner from each contest wins a monetary prize and will represent Cherokee County Farm Bureau in the district contest in July.

From the district contest, the winners advance to the state contest, to be held in December 2008.

To be eligible for these contests, contestants must be between the ages of 16 and 19 years old, as of Sept. 1, 2007.

Potential contestants must also be a member of Texas Farm Bureau or a family member of the Texas Farm Bureau.

For complete rules, please pick up applications at the local Farm Bureau offices, located in Jacksonville at 303 W. Rusk St., and in Rusk on Loop 343., or call Rhonda Robinson at 903-683-2576.

Applications must be turned in by June 6.
