CCT sets auditions for ‘Alice in Wonderland’
The Cherokee Civic Theatre will hold auditions for the winter production of “Alice In Wonderland,” directed by Castanya Breen.
Auditions will begin at 10 a.m., Oct. 18, for children ages 4 to 8; children ages 9 to 12 will audition at 10:30 a.m.; ages 13 to 15 will audition at 11 a.m.
Auditions for the role of Alice will begin at 11:30 a.m. Those wishing to audition for the role of Alice are required to memorize a monologue which will be available at the Jacksonville Public Library in Jacksonville, and the Singletary Memorial Library in Rusk, and will also be available for download at the theater’s Website, www.cherokeetheatre.net.
Auditions will also be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 19 and at 7 p.m. Oct. 20.
Auditions will take place at the Cherokee Civic Theatre Annex, next door to the theater, with productions taking place at the historic Cherokee Civic Theatre, located at 157 W. Fifth St., in Rusk.
“Alice In Wonderland” is a fantastic adventure; complete with talking animals, a wild tea party, and a pack of playing cards with a mind of their own.
There are a few musical numbers, some with solos and duets, and there will be dancing for some of the cast.
Some of the cast members will be required to attend a “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party,” which will be held on Dec. 7 and 13.
Cast members will also be participating in the city of Rusk’s Christmas parade.
Show dates are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5-6 and Dec. 12-13 and 2 p.m. Dec. 7.
The Cherokee Civic Theatre is constantly looking for volunteers.
