Kristen Alyssa Parish and Philip Brandon McGee were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville, repeating their vows in the presence of family and friends in a lovely outdoor sundown wetting with Judge Craig Fletcher presiding.
The bride, daughter of Andy and Kay Parish of Jacksonville and Donny and Sabrina Whitehead of Henderson, is employed as an occupational therapy assistant at Medical Center Hospital in Tyler and a graduate of Panola College and Arp High School. Maternal grandparents, Paul and Laurell Jordan and paternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Parish, are all of Arp.
The groom, son of Philip and Joni McGee of Houston and Candace Dillion of Palestine, is employed with East Texas Medical Center as a traveling nurse with Excel Staffing Service and a graduate of Trinity Valley Community College and Palestine High School. Maternal grandparents are Joe and the late Bonnie Myers of Palestine and paternal grandmother Elsie McGee, of Palestine.
The bride chose an exquisite trumpet gown of ecru satin overlaid with lace encrusted with pearls and crystals. Layers of satin and lace extended into a chapel train. Her fingertip-length veil was outlined in pearls and crystals. Compliment-ing her gown and veil, the bride chose a pearl and crystal choker necklace, drop earrings and a pearl bracelet. The bridal bouquet consisted of hand tied flowers in deep shades of pink surrounded by lush greenery.
Attending the bride were Jennifer Moore, maid of honor of Arp, Angelina Liles of Henderson, and Ashley Brisow of Nacogdoches. All chose black cocktail dresses and carried bouquets of various hand tied flowers in deep shades of pink greenery.
The groom’s attendants were his father, Philip McGee of Houston, as best man, Efrain Garcia of Palestine and Tyler Dillon, brother of the groom, of Palestine. The groom, his attendants and ushers chose black tuxedos with ecru accents. Relatives and guests were assisted by ushers, Josh Parish, brother of the bride of Longview, Matthew Swinney of Arp, and Brandon Lauder of Tyler.
Ring bearers, Levi McGee of Lindale, son of the groom and Kaden Parish, nephew of the bride and son of Josh and Meagan Parish of Longview, carried identical pillows of ecru satin trimmed in pearls, crystals and ribbons to compliment the bride’s gown.
Flower girls, Kori Lee and Jessica Minnix, daughters of David and Jennifer Minnis of Troup, preceded the bride down the walkway scattering rose petals of various hues of pink.
Following the wedding, the bride and groom greeted the families and guests in the great room of the Castle on the Lake with a cocktail reception and dance.
On Friday, Sept. 26, a rehearsal dinner was held at the Castle on the Lake for members of the wedding party and the immediate families.
The bride and groom spent their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and are residing in Arp.
