'Thespians ‘N Training’ group ready to sign up new talent

CHEROKEE COUNTY — TNT (“Thespians ‘N Training”) theatre arts camp will be offered for the 11th consecutive year by Cherokee Civic Theatre.  TNT 2014 will run July 14-26 at the historic Cherokee Theater.  Early Bird Registration for the camp begins April 1st and General Registration starts April 15th.

 TNT 2014 provides seperate troupes for Grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and high school students.  Monday through Friday, Grades 1-4 will meet mornings from 9am-1pm with Grades 5-8 meeting afternoons from 1pm-5pm.  TNT PM for teens will run from 5:30-9:30 weekday evenings.

Each TNT troupe will perform a one-act play during the Grand Finale Showcases which are presented throughout the day on Saturday, July 26th.  “They have exactly 40 hours from the time they enter the doors to audition, memorize, build, paint, costume and rehearse their show,” explains Sheilah O’Heaney, TNT Producer.  “And that includes snack time!”  Among the volunteers who serve as directors and counselors, TNT Camp is known as “the 40-hour Frenzy”.

Directors for TNT 2014 will be Sheilah O’Heaney (Grades 1-2), Moira Debbs (Grades 3-4), Judy Faye Garner (Grades 5-6), Debra Petri (Grades 7-8).  Eddie Breen and Laura Cunningham will direct the TNT PM troupe which will present two shows.  TNT producers are Judy Faye Garner, Castanya Breen and Sheilah O’Heaney.

Early Bird Registration is $45 for the two-week camp and General Registration is $50.  There are discounts for siblings.  The low cost of this camp is made possible by underwriting from Suzanne & J.
