A call for election for seats two and four of Jacksonville’s City Council is on the agenda for the regular meeting to be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Norman Activity Center.
Also, a group of citizens will speak during the public comments portion of the meeting to present letters against a proposed U.S. 69 relief route through parts west of Jacksonville.
Council members will also discuss and consider the approval of a resolution which will provide for acquisition of a voting system, as required by the Texas Election Code.
Members will also consider authorizing Jacksonville City Manager Mo Raissi to advertise for construction bids for the installation of a fish barrier on Lake Jacksonville, and the re-establishment of a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will also be discussed.
Other items on the agenda include:
• Three public hearings to request zone changes — two for property located on East Rusk Street; and one for a lot located on Phillips Street.
• The consideration of a resolution supporting the adoption of a revitalization plan.
• Approving an asset purchase agreement between Cox Communications and Cebridge Acquisition Co. LLC.
• Considering bids received for two sport utility vehicles for the fire department.
• Considering bid received for two police cars.
• Discussing appointments to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
• Hold a council workshop to discuss proposed amendments to the pre-treatment ordinance of the city of Jacksonville.
