JACKSONVILLE — Reports indicate Jacksonville's own Eunice Sanborn, 115, is now the oldest living person in the world.
Sanborn also is the oldest living person in the United States. She was so named on April 13, 2010. David French, Sanborn's "adopted" son and caretaker, reported Thursday that she is doing well, but has had some restless nights recently.
She was born July 20, 1895 (though the U.S. Census Bureau lists her birth year as 1896).
Agence France-Presse reports a nun named Eugenie Blanchard, the former oldest woman, died this morning. Blanchard lived in the French West Indies and was born Feb. 16, 1896.
