Jacksonville police apprehended a suspect in an assault on Wednesday morning.
Police received a tip that Andres Saucedo, 22, was at a residence in the 1000 block of San Marcos.
"We arrived at this residence in attempt to take him into custody," Jacksonville Police Det. Greg Compton said. "We knocked on the door and there was no answer."
Jacksonville police officers decided to wait him out and gathered resources in the meantime.
Police Chief Reece Daniel said approximately six officers were at the scene.
"He finally came out and we took him into custody without incident," Det. Compton said.
Saucedo, whose home of record is listed in Jacksonville, was also wanted on a parole warrant for a burglary of a habitation conviction from 2010.
He was held overnight in the Jacksonville City Jail pending arraignment and will then be transferred to the Cherokee County Jail.
