Momma B's is going to knock you out.
The only reason one should even attempt to paraphrase a song from famed rapper LL Cool J is when it's worth it. And believe us: It is totally worth it to pay tribute to these insanely-thick and delicious trademark ground beef hamburgers served in this fantastic and recently opened diner.
Just ask customers.
Momma B's Diner, 401 Larissa, is making a serious name for itself in Jacksonville as a culinary cornucopia for the hungry crowd.
Jacksonville resident David Cooley will be the first to tell you.
“If you have not had a hamburger from Momma B's Diner, go there NOW,” Cooley instructed on Facebook. “Holy smoke was that good!!”
In public statements made on Facebook, owner Beverly Lankford, the “B” in Momma B’s, unabashedly describes her food as the best in town.
“It's so great you will scrape your plate!” she gushed. “Come and eat with me at Momma B's.”
The restaurant now has Wi-Fi, and Lankford encourages guests to drop by, have a cup of coffee and search the web.
Her menu is a sensational smattering of American food, breakfast goodness, soul food and even some good old Southern cooking.
But, trust this reviewer: Her hearty, thick, and delicious hamburgers will keep customers coming back.
Momma B's is on the move with its opening activities. It hosted a Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting in late June and started a Facebook page in mid-May.
Lankford, meanwhile, has said she prides the eatery as being a family-oriented restaurant. There, home cooked meals are painstakingly made to order for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Facebook friend Jonathan Yarbrough posted that he plans to make Momma B's his “must-stop-there-when-in-town” restaurant.
“I know where I'm stopping this next Thursday on my way to Tyler State Park,” Yarbrough said. “Keep the coffee hot, I won't sue. :-D.”
Others can hardly keep the discovery of the restaurant to themselves.
“I know it has to be some of the best cooking in Texas,” said FB friend Leona K Crawford Weil.
The restaurant is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
