Reception slated for BISD’s chief

BULLARD — Local residents will have an opportunity to bid outgoing BISD Superintendent Keith Bryant farewell during a 5 to 7 p.m. reception Wednesday in the Bullard ISD administration board room.

Bryant, who took over as head of the school district in 2008, was named July 7 as the lone finalist in the Lubbock-Cooper ISD superintendent search.

The West Texas district must fulfill a 21-day waiting period before officially hiring Bryant.

The outgoing BISD superintendent is a 1986 graduate of Lamesa High School and graduated from Texas Tech University.

Bryant served as Lamesa's superintendent from 2004 to 2008 before being hired by the Bullard school district.

Meanwhile, BISD trustees have moved forward in their search for Bryant's successor, working with an independent search firm to both hire an interim superintendent as well as a permanent replacement.
