Crime Stoppers of Cherokee County asks for the public's help in getting more information about two crimes from May.
On May 28 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a home owner on FM-3198 in the Bullard area returned home for lunch and discovered the back doors open to the house.
Upon entry to the house, deputies discovered that several rooms had been rummaged through, and left in a general state of disarray.
Deputies believe the suspect or suspects parked at the rear of the house, where tire tracks were discovered, and then used a spare key to make entry through the back door.
Among items taken from the house included the following:
** Samsung brand, 60 inch LED flat screen TV; Valued at $1,400
** Samsung brand, 55 inch LED flat screen TV; Valued at $1,200
** Remington model 870, 12ga shotgun, painted camo; Valued at $500
** Horton brand cross bow; Valued at $600
** Assorted jewelry
On May 29 at approximately 5:15 p.m., a home owner on CR-3401, north of Jacksonville,
returned home from work to discover that his back door had been kicked in and many items taken from his residence.
It appeared that the suspects parked behind the residence (where tire tracks were found), forced entry to the residence and then spent considerable time inside. In the master bedroom, a large gun safe was tipped over and laying face down on the floor, but had not been broken into. The dressers and closet had been rummaged through. It appeared several other rooms were rummaged through as well, including a re-loading room where the homeowner stored ammunition, reloading equipment and supplies.
A small blue or black truck had been seen in the area on earlier in the day.
Several thousands of dollars in jewelry, guns, ammunition and supplies were taken from the residence; including:
** 2 Sierra brand, numbered collectible bullet boards, written on back of one was “In Memory of Frank Lindsey”
** Ruger model KS-47NHN, 44 magnum, 71/2 stainless steel barrel, with Weaver 2.5inch 8x32 scope
** Jansen and Son 12ga, double-barrel shotgun with hammers. Receiver engraved with “Byrd” and
** 6 Colt brand .223, 20 round magazines
** 2 Cold brand .223, 30 round magazines
** 1,000 rounds Herters brand .223 ammunition
** 800 rounds Wolf brand .223 ammunition
