4-H member, dog win awards at shows

CHEROKEE COUNTY — Katie Landrum and her dog,  Zoey, recently participated in two agility trials. On on February 1, 2014  the Montgomery County District 9 Open 4-H Dog Show was held in  Conroe. It was hosted by the Montgomery County Best Friends 4-H Dog Club. Katie and Zoey participated in Standards Novice and Jumpers Novice class. They placed 9th and 5th respectively. The second agility trial  was hosted by Lucky Dog Training Center in Tyler on March 1. This show was sanctioned by Canine Performance Events, Inc. (CPE).   Katie and Zoey competed in both Standard and Jumpers level 1 class. The picture shows their winnings from this show. They placed  1st in Standard class, receiving another “Q” (qualifying run) with zero faults.  They now advance to level 2 in that class.  

Another qualifying run was completed in the jumpers class as well.

Zoey is an all American mix breed who was rescued from the Henderson County Humane Society more than five years ago.
