Credit by exam for accelerated tests offered to JISD students this spring

Credit by exam for acceleration tests are offered by Jacksonville ISD in cooperation with Region 7 Education Service Center for students who wish to earn credit without prior instruction or to “place out” of specific courses or grades.

Grades K-2 will use local assessments.

 Region 7 will offer these exams from the University of Texas at Austin for grades 3 – 12 at the following locations, dates and times:

• Region 7 ESC – Kil-gore on June 4, 5, & 6

• Region 7 ESC – Kil-gore on July 9, 10, & 11

Testing sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

A battery of four exams (math, language arts and reading, science and social studies) is offered for grades 3-5.  The complete battery must be taken.

The following exams are offered for grades 6, 7 and 8:

• Grade 6 – Math, Language Arts, Social Studies & Science

•Grade 7 – Math, Language Arts, Social Studies & Science

• Grade 8 – Math, Language Arts, Social Studies & Science

 The complete battery must be taken in grades 6-8.

The cost is $30 per test in EACH subject area in grades 3-8 and $30 for ½ Credit Exams or $60 for 1 credit exams in grades 9-12.

Parents must pay at the time of registration.  

Money will be reimbursed to parents upon completion of the exams in the summer.

Parents may contact the school counselor at their child’s campus to register for the exams. 

Registration deadline is April 15.
