First Responder Appreciation Day

JACKSONVILLE — On Wednesday,  Jacksonville College recognized local heroes with First Responder Appreciation Day. Joining JC faculty, staff and students were around 30 honorees from the Jacksonville and New Summerfield police departments, Jacksonville EMS and Fire Department, and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department. Jacksonville College Chief of Security Mike Morse presented certificates to Sheriff James Campbell,  JPD Chief Reece Daniel  and  Fire Chief Paul White. Each First Responder in attendance also received a coupon for a free sandwich plate at Stacy’s Barbeque courtesy of Jacksonville College and a free general admission season pass to all home basketball games for next season from the Athletic Department.  A reception followed in the Norman Library where JC employees could get to know and personally thank these local heroes.
