Bull Bash bucks into rodeo arena

JACKSONVILLE — The 3rd annual Spooktacular Bull Bash, featuring a variety of events like mutton busting and mascot races, will be held Saturday at the Lon Morris Rodeo Arena on Pepples Street.

The CBR Horizon event is sponsored by Ag-Power Inc., Matheson and Jacksonville Auto Glass, and supports local agricultural programs and operations.

Activities begin at 3 p.m. with a farmer's market and children's events.

Music will be provided by Paul Ruark, Hatti Bridges, Brooklyn Cheyanne Hooker, Darby Allaine Capps, Aztek and the Engage Drama Team.

Local FFA Chapters and churches will be in attendance fundraising with mechanical bull rides, pony rides, greased pig chases and more.

A 6 p.m. opening ceremony by the Cherokee County Marine Corps League Detachment #1381 and a performance by the Bar None Cowboy Church Drill Team of Tatum signals the start of championship bull ride events.

Mutton busting, mascot races, mini bull-riding for youths ages 9-14 and a 40 head champion bull riding are featured.

Tickets are $10 each, $5 with student ID; admission is free for children ages five and under. Boxed seating also will be available: A six-seat box is $100, while a four-seat box is $65.  Advance tickets may be purchased at Jacksonville Auto Glass or online at www.spooktacularbullbash.com
