Area school districts will hold public hearings next week on proposed budgets and tax rates for their 2013-2014 school year.
Troup ISD – A public hearing slated for noon Monday at the district's administration office board room will be followed by a special meeting calling for the adoption of a proposed $9.923 million budget, which is funded by a proposed tax rate of $1.118 per $100 property valuation, said Brad Parsons, executive director of the district's Business Services office.
Bullard ISD – Superintendent Keith Bryant said the district's hearings are scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the school administration building; a proposed budget of approximately $17 million – to be funded by a proposed $1.47 tax rate – will be addressed. Board members will vote on whether to adopt these after the conclusion of the hearings.
Wells ISD – A public hearing slated for 7 p.m. Monday at the Distance Learning Center on the high school campus will give residents an opportunity to address a proposed $7,197,303 budget for the upcoming school year, funded by a proposed $1.17 tax rate. Slightly more than half of the budget – $3.822 million – will go toward new construction in the district, where a new ag building, gym and additional high school classrooms are being built.
