Only one person attended the Jacksonville City Council's Wednesday public hearing to review the proposed budget and tax rate for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
Unfortunately, the woman in attendance was there to discuss a separate matter not on the agenda at the 6 p.m. Norman Activity Center meeting in council chambers, City Manager Mo Raissi said.
“She wanted to talk about the Yum Yum building,” Raissi said. “That was it, really.”
So the meeting was adjourned.
Specifics were still up in the air Thursday, but it appears the council's budget total still is estimated to be around $14 million, although this number could still be revised, the city manager cautioned. Raissi said the council is expected to hold the tax rate at $.62 cents per $100 valuation.
