JACKSONVILLE — Kiwanis Club members in Jacksonville hope to hear the sounds of gunfire March 15.

Don’t worry, it’s all for a good cause.

An inaugural Kiwanis Shootout event will be held March 15 at Jacksonville's Mud Creek Park, and features a 10-station, 100-bird sporting clay shooting course.

The event begins at 9 a.m., and is open to four-person teams. Cost is $300 per team, with members providing their own shotguns and shells. Mulligans are available for purchase to replace a team's lowest score at each station.

Awards will be given to the top three teams, with door prizes awarded to shooters. Drawings also will be held for a Benelli Super Black Eagle II Shotgun and a Tread-Brite Aluminum Truck Dog Box.
