The Bullard Education Foundation hosted its 3rd annual 5K /Fun Run, “Strides for Excellence” on April 20.
The main fundraiser for the Foundation was a huge success generating over $14,000 in monies raised. With over 150 participants and perfect weather, the community enjoyed a great day of fitness and fun.
This year the 1 mile fun-run included a family friendly obstacle course that was instantly the crowd favorite. A climbing wall, creek crossing and waterslide were just some of the obstacles encountered along the course.
The 5K runners enjoyed a route that took them by every campus in Bullard ISD and finished in Panther Stadium with healthy snacks, the Bullard Panther run-through tunnel and awards for the top finishers in age/gender categories. “As usual, all the money raised goes directly back to the students and staff of Bullard ISD, so it was great to see the community come out in support of this event,” said Darren Davis, the Foundation’s president. “It was a great mix of avid runners, families and kids, and everyone seemed to leave with a smile on their face.”
Planning for next year’s run is already underway, and everyone is encouraged to come out and support the Bullard schools and community.
