JACKSONVILLE — A county 4-H “Healthy Holidays” food and nutrition contest has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Jan. 11, said Cherokee County extension agent Wendi Green.

“We had schedule conflicts with some of the participants, so we decided to push it back,” she said, adding that the contest will still be held at the County Extension Office at 165 E. Sixth Street in Rusk.

Contest categories include a food show, a nutrition quiz bowl, a place setting competition and a poster contest, as well as a food challenge that was added in 2009.

Categories are broken down by age: The senior level is for contestants ages 14-19; intermediate, ages 11-13; junior, ages 8-10; and the Clover Kids category, ages 5-8/second grade.

The district-level  food and nutrition project is scheduled Feb. 2 at Stephen F. Austin State University.
