During their meeting Monday, members of the Troup ISD school board called for a May 11 election to fill two full-term spots that expire this year.
Johnny Johnson, the Place 6 board member and Bill Lacy, Place 7, complete three-year-terms this year.
Interested candidates can begin filing applications on Jan. 30, and have until a March 1 deadline. Applications will be available at the district's administration office from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily.
Early voting for the school board election will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays beginning April 29 through May 7. Polling hours will be extended from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on May 6 and May 7. Election day polling – on May 11 – also will be held from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
Both early voting and election day votes may be cast at the Troup Municipal Library, 201 S. Georgia St.
