District’s leader named lone finalist at ISD in Lubbock area

BULLARD — During a meeting Monday night, the Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District Board of Trustees named Keith Bryant, current Bullard ISD Superintendent, as the lone finalist in the district’s search for a new superintendent. A twenty-one day waiting period will be in effect before Lubbock-Cooper can officially hire Bryant.

Bullard ISD Board of Trustees also met Monday night in a special called meeting. The Board voted to move forward with the appointment of an interim superintendent. In addition, the Board voted to utilize the services of an independent search firm to facilitate the process of hiring an interim as well as a permanent replacement.

According to Bryant’s profile on the website “LinkedIn,” he served as superintendent of the West Texas district Lamesa ISD from November 2004 to June 2008 before being hired in July 2008 by the Bullard district to serve as superintendent.

He is a graduate of Texas Tech University. According to the website www.everythinglubbock.com, Bryant is a 1986 graduate of Lamesa High School.
