Early voting begins today

JACKSONVILLE — Municipalities and school districts with a May 11 election day will hold early voting April 29 through May 7 at local polling sites.

Some also will offer two days of extended voting during this period.

In Jacksonville, voters can cast ballots for the municipal election at City Hall, 301 E. Commerce, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; on May 1- 2, extended voting hours will be held there from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A joint election has been called by the City of Alto and the local school district; individuals can cast early votes at Alto City Hall. Extended hours also will be offered during the election.

In New Summerfield, voters casting ballots for municipal races will go to City Hall, 13280 State Highway 110, while those voting in the school board races will cast ballots at the school campus. Extended early voting hours will be offered from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. May 1-2.

Rusk ISD early voting will be held at the school administration building, 203 E. 7Th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Troup Municipal Library, 201 S. Georgia, is where voters can cast early ballots in the Troup ISD races. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; extended voting hours – from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. – will be offered May 6-7.

In Wells, early voting for school board elections will be held at the WISD administration offices, 160 Rusk Ave.
