Rusk zombies getting ready to feast on locals

Don't forget! The Rusk Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the cross country run titled "Running From Zombies"  Oct. 19.

This monstrous version of "Flag Football"  provides runners with a flag belt and a red flag attached to their waist. The recruited zombies will focus on stopping runners from crossing the finish lines with their red flags still attached.

Red flags are worth money. So  zombies or runners are advised to save all available flags.

This event is expected to raise money for the Rusk Senior Finale. It will take place in and around the chamber's newest event, "The Hollow Festival."

After the conclusion of registration at 4 p.m. Oct. 19, the participants will be taken to a secret location and set to run on a specially-marked trail.

As they run along this trail, runners will have to avoid all zombies while maintaining their flags.

The run concludes at the Rusk Civic Center. There will be awards and the "Free Hollow Dance" will begin.

To find out more about how to participate, call 1-800-933-2381 or visit the Rusk Chamber website www.RuskChamber.com.
