Jacksonville Daily Progress
In 2010 Jacksonville was qualified as a retirement community. According to the Texas Department of Agriculture, bringing retirees to your community provides positive economic impact. The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce formed a committee to investigate the benefits of retiring in Jacksonville. Quickly realizing there are many benefits to living in Jacksonville; our mission became simple. We want to help people retire here; the benefits of retiring in Jacksonville outweigh most communities across Texas and even the United States.
Just a few of the benefits of living in Jacksonville, Texas are:
- Affordable cost of living
- Unmatched Healthcare, supported by the two largest healthcare systems in East Texas.
- Beautiful landscape including our renowned Lake Jacksonville.
- Golfing at The Challenge of the Woods.
- Affordable shopping and convenient grocery stores.
- Diverse worship opportunities.
- Numerous restaurants, six area hotels and a Bed & Breakfast.
- And last, but not least Jacksonville, Texas is known for its welcoming, friendly people.
The Retirement Committee is working hard to attract retirees to our community. To accomplish this goal, the committee has developed a strategic marketing plan. The first phase is a billboard located on Highway 69 above H & J Body Shop here in Jacksonville. This is a one year marketing tool for the thousands of visitors traveling through the community. Phase two is the card (attached) designed by Jana Autry of Autry Design. More than 25,000 brochures will be distributed to 463 locations. In the area of Houston and Dallas.
To date this committee is supported by Austin Bank, East Texas Medical Center, The City of Jacksonville, The Norman Law Firm, Texas Farm Bureau, Trinity Mother Frances and Randy Gorham, CPA.
