A man believed to have committed a Jacksonville home burglary Monday morning remained in police custody that evening and was expected to be arraigned this morning, police said.
The home that had been targeted was in the vicinity of Dunbar Street near Bethune, reports show.
Anthony Taylor, age not immediately available, was located and questioned about the burglary by authorities about 8:30 a.m. Monday.
He was located in that general area near a Chevrolet pickup spotted at the scene of the crime, police said.
“When officers briefly spoke to him, they were able to tie him and the vehicle in to the burglary of a building,” explained Jacksonville Police Det. Greg Compton. “It had only recently occurred.”
During that burglary some tools and blades had been stolen, according to reports.
After Taylor was arrested, his vehicle was immediately impounded, Det. Compton added.
The case remained under investigation Monday evening.
Burglary of a building is a state jail felony.
