Jacksonville Chamber names new officers, members

The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the following 2014 Board of Directors Officers: Kris Sturrock, Chairwoman of the Board, Randy Gorham, Treasurer and Tam Nannen, Chairwoman Elect of the Board. During the regular Chamber Board meeting the officers were announced and approved at the December 2, 2013 Board meeting.

The Chamber board members also approved the following newly elected Chamber members to serve a three year term serving on the Chamber board beginning January 1st 2014 until December 31st, 2016 and they are: Pam Anderson- A Circle of Ten, Robin Butt- Boogie Butt Productions, Bobbie Durham- Southside Bank, Becky Hesterley- Keller Williams Realty, Father Mark Kusmerick – Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Hallie Peoples- East Texas Medical Center, Judy Terry- Jacksonville Independent School District and Jaclyn Tyler- Austin Bank.

Remaining board members who will serve  until December 31st 2014 are: Brett Brewer – The Norman Law Firm, Bob Francis – Texas National Bank, Debbie Kerzee- Mark Kerzee Insurance, Tricia Thomason- Hit the Spot Designs, Bruce Mehlenbacher- Citizen’s 1st Bank, Kathleen Stanfill – Congratulations!, Brittany Traylor – Randy Gorham, CPA, and Darin Wood – Central Baptist Church.

Other board members serving until December 31st, 2015 are: David Butler- Peoples Church, Darrell Dement- D& L Tooling & Plastics, Rob Gowin- Sadler’s Kitchen & Catering, Wendi Green- CEA-FCS, Cherokee County, Joan Malone- Austin Bank, Dick Stone- Stone Financial Services, Kris Strurrock,  Alisha Tarrant- Austin Bank and Byron Underwood- Cherokee County Commissioner.

The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet will be held on Monday, January 27th, 11:30 am at the Legacy catered by Sadler’s.  During the luncheon Brett Brewer, 2013 Chairman of the Board will highlight his leadership role and Kris Sturrock, 2014 Chairwoman of the Board will provide Chamber goals set for 2014.     No injuries were reported Monday morning after an 18-wheel tractor-trailer bore the brunt of damage when it collided with a logging truck in front of it, according to Jacksonville Police officer Matthew Odom. The wreck occurred at the intersection of Jackson and Canada streets.
