The City of Jacksonville will sponsor a clean-up day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, with items accepted at three different sites throughout town, according to city officials
Only residential waste will be accepted; individuals bringing waste to any of the locations must show a current residential water bill and driver's license.
Residents may transport nine yards (a total of three pick-up loads) to the at the city landfill, 440 Heath Lane. Allowable waste includes tree limbs and yard debris, lawn mowers with all traces of oil and gas removed from tanks/engines, dried out paint cans, old carpet and one television per vehicle.
Amounts exceeding the nine-yard limit will be assessed the regular gate price.
Recyclables – including appliances, batteries, e-waste, metal, used oil and tires also will be accepted at the recreation center, located at 903 Peeples St.
In addition to the landfill, residents may drop their trash at any of the following locations: 303 Tena St., Crim Park on Myrtle Drive, 924 W. Rusk St. (Huttash Paint & Body Shop) or 329 N. Bolton (Champs).
