Students raise money for socks, underwear at Ukraine orphanage

JACKSONVILLE — Kids First Weekday Education, a private preschool and  early education campus,  a class recently collected $1,200 for an orphanage in the Ukraine.

According to school officials, students participated in the “Feathers for Friends” service project by contributing $1 to purchase feathers for their classroom turkey.

The amount raised will be used to purchase socks and underwear for the orphanage, which houses 120 children.

The school is located on the facilities of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville.

They currently serve infants through second grade.
