Jacksonville, Rusk chambers prepare for annual banquets

JACKSONVILLE — Citizens of Rusk and Jacksonville will be recognized by their local Chambers of Commerce during upcoming banquets in those cities.

On Saturday, the 73rd annual Rusk Chamber of Commerce banquet begins at 6 p.m. in the Rusk Jr. High cafeteria. Rusk's Citizen of the Year, Business Woman, Business Man of the Year and Business of the Year will be recognized. Also during the event, a President's Award and Lifetime Achievement Award will be bestowed.

Attendees are invited to dress as their favorite movie stars for “Night with the Stars,” with prizes awarded for best look-alike movie actor, actress and/or couple.

Tickets are $25 per guest, with limited tables available for groups of eight or more.

The 89th annual Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce banquet will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at The Legacy, 782 CR 1511 in Jacksonville.

Along with revealing the 2013 Outstanding Citizen of the Year, the Chamber will recognize 2013 board chairman Brett Brewer, and introduce the 2014 chairperson, Kris Sturrock.

Cost is  $25 members and $28 for non-members. Tables of six are available for $160 (members) and $190 (non-members), while tables of eight are $210 members or $240 non-members.
