Trustees also approved a joint election agreement with the City of Rusk, agreeing to share a polling location for upcoming school and city elections. The school board election, which has three seats up for grabs, is scheduled May 10.
Also during Monday's meeting, trustees adopted the 2014-2015 school calendar; Jones said the only change made from the current calendar was to spread staff development days over the course of the year at the suggestion of teachers.
This, she said, allowed teachers to make implement changes or improvements to their curriculum throughout the year to better meet their needs.
The board also accepted the resignation of two instructors: Lori McRight, an intermediate school teacher, and Adam Fredericks, a junior high band director.
