Workers are preparing for the new Bacon Auto Country dealership in Jacksonville. Scheduled to open this fall, the 40,000-square-foot project is estimated to cost approximately $4 million, and will be located north of the city, across from Love's Lookout. WRL General Contractors of Flint is overseeing construction.
The local Jacksonville dealership is part of a six-decade old family-run business that includes Frankston's Bacon Chevrolet, Bacon Auto-plex in Palestine and Bacon Auto Ranch in Athens. Currently, Bacon Auto Country operates at 1033 N. Jackson, on a lot that was once home to Jacksonville's Livezey-Holcomb Autoplex, Cherokee Motors and G&H Motors.
