JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville ISD Elementary school students participated in the annual Jump Rope For Heart event Tuesday.

The event is the result of a coordinated effort by JISD elementary PE teachers and the JISD Health Services Department to raise money to benefit the American Heart Association.

Initial totals show that the students raised more than $2,400. Students participated in short and long rope jumping during the two-hour event.

The Heart Throbbers, a jump rope exhibition team from Tyler ISD entertained the crowd with a show of trick and speed jump roping.
