Mud Nationals kick off; Uncle Kracker on lineup

JACKSONVILLE — Folks are already seeing parking lots of full of big trucks and trailers full of ATVs … a sure sign of the Mud Creek Mud Nationals.

The well-attended event kicked into high gear Wednesday and will continue through Sunday at Mud Creek Off-Road Park. Admission is $70 per person for the five-day event. Children younger than six get in for free with a paid adult. Cost is $30 for RV camping.

Several ATV competitions are held, including a poker run, endurance challenge and youth bog.

This year's headliner is well-known performing artist Uncle Kracker, who will take the stage Saturday night. His more popular hits include “Smile,” “Drift Away,” “Rock” and “When the Sun Goes Down” with country artist Kenny Chesney.

Drake White and The Big Fire will be the opening act Saturday. On Friday, musical acts include Jason Cassidy and Swamp Donky.
