William F. 'Bill' Quinn

Graveside services for retired Texas Ranger William F. “Bill” Quinn, age 83, of Rusk are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2008 in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Greg Gunter officiating under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.

Mr. Quinn died December 31, 2007 in a Jacksonville Hospital. He was born November 17, 1924 in Trinidad, TX to Carey W. and Mattie Pearl Fuqua Quinn. He was a resident of Rusk for twenty-eight years. He was a member of Church On The Rock in Rusk. He graduated from Trinidad High School in 1942 and he attended two years of college at LeTourneau College in Longview, TX.

Mr. Quinn became a Texas Highway Patrolman August 1, 1948 and a Texas Ranger in Navasota, TX in 1970. He retired as a Texas Ranger in 1988. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Zelma Quinn of Rusk; three daughters, Rhonda Morrow of Niagra Falls, New York, Neweta Rash of Childress, TX, and Vicki Stubblefield of Austin, TX; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6 to p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the funeral home. If desired, memorials may be made to Cal Farley Boys Ranch or charity of choice.
