JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for R. Floyd “Boots” Barrington, age 99, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 11:00 am Sat., Sept. 29, 2012 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville with Rev. David Smith and Rev. Wade Holman officiating.

Burial will be held at Mixon Cemetery.

Mr. Barrington  peacefully left this life to join the Lord on Tues., Sept. 25, 2012.

He was born April 30, 1913 in Malakoff, reared in Mixon.

Mr. Barrington was a faithful member of Craft Baptist Church, Jacksonville, served in the “CCC” in Maydelle and United States Army. Member of Pipefitters Local Union #211 and was a pipefitter and welder in Houston where he lived for 32 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 69 years Ila Faye Keeton Barrington, daughter Rose Marie Barrington, three brothers Elray, Mutt and Joe T. Barrington and infant grandson Rubien Allen Barrington.

Survivors include his daughter Gloria Smith and husband David of Jacksonville; son Ronnie Barrington and wife Linda of Conroe; sister Opal Presley of Texas City; sister-in-law Lynette Barrington of Pasadena; seven grandchildren and spouses; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Randy Smith, Hal Woodson, Kyle Smith, Randy Rodriguez, Ronnie Daryl Barrington, Russell Barrington, David William Smith and Brian Justice.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Craft Baptist Church and Great-Grandsons.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, September 28, 2012 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
