JACKSONVILLE — Connie L. (Sanders) Garner, 74, a resident of Vienna, Ill., passed away Friday morning, Aug. 16, 2013, at 11:45 a.m. at her home.

Connie was born on April 15, 1939 in Vienna, Ill. She was the daughter of Tilford Sanders and Grace Elzora (Mathis) Sanders.

Survivors include her children, Timberlyn and Wayne Holobaugh of Collierville, Tenn;  Timothy Clements and David Jennings of Tampa, Fla.; Allen and Darlene Clements of Athens; Tracy and Gloria Clements of Jacksonville; Don and Zana Garner, Jr. of Rusk; Kendra and Billy Scarborough of Palestine; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, James and Joan Sanders of Springville, Tenn.; George Sanders of Jenson Beach, Fla; seven sisters, Jane and Sherman McClellan of Baytown; Myra and Howard Ray Powell of Ozark, Ill.;  Mary and Bob Harper of Tunnel Hill, Ill.; Vickie and Rodger Webb of Dongola, Ill.; Sharon Folkman (the late Howard) of Bismarck, Ill.; Sally and Clyde Taylor of Vienna, Ill.; Judy Nutty (the late Frank) of Vienna, Ill.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Connie was preceded in death by an infant sister, Holly Colleen Sanders; a sister and brother-in-law Betty and C.M. “Marion” Daniels; a brother-in-law, Jerry R. Simmons.

Connie had operated a retail plant nursery business in Gallatin and had also worked as a telephone operator in Hardy, Ark.

Connie was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna. She was a faithful church member and loved working in her church. She had been a member of the Gallatin Missionary Baptist Church in Gallatin for over 30 years.

Connie enjoyed horseback riding, painting, sewing and crafts. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Mon., Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Pastor Russ Kreuter and Brother Tommy Gray will officiate.

Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
